Dear Patients,

Amidst COVID-19 concerns for health safety, we have transitioned to a virtual medical centre to serve our patients. Patients of the clinic will be seen online via a secure platform through the Ontario Telemedicine Network. All patients can make an appointment to see our doctors by contacting reception@vitalmedicine.ca during business hours:

Mon to Fri: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sat: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Brampton
Mon to Fri: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Sat and Sun: 10 AM – 6:00 PM

If you are having an emergency, please contact 9-1-1. The local COVID-19 assessment and testing centre is at Peel Memorial Hospital.

WHAT IS THE CORONAVIRUS?

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. Some coronaviruses transmit between animals, some between animals and people, and others from people to people.

SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS INFECTION

Coronavirus infections are common and typically lead to the common cold. Gastrointestinal disease is possible for young infants.

Symptoms are usually mild to moderate and can include:

  • Runny nose
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • A general feeling of being unwell

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PREVENT FROM GETTING THE CORNAVIRUS?

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.
